Chronicles of Narnia

A few years back my college friend John offered me the seven book set of The Chronicles of Narnia. I was interested in them because I was teaching reminiscing to senior citizens and sometimes it is nice to hearken back reread classic literature from fourth grade core curriculum.


Today I sold that set for $5 along with a list of 10 other things that helped continue thinning out my belongings. Yesterday, the unfinished blog rendered the sale of 7 items for a grand total of $169.00 at the finish today. Today was a little slow but along with the social interaction and the lessons I get to suggest along the way, a moving out sale is so worth it. It has been a ton of work but the other option was to give it all to a thrift store and feel like crap inside when I know I can earn the money.

Personal property has a tremendous amount of sentimental value. Try not to forget that when you were getting rid of your own things or those of another. There are a lot of personal strings that we attach to our stuff. These strings mean a lot of different very important things to a person's dignity, integrity and sense of belonging. Lessons from today:
